Two Stages Are Better Than One

Two-staged cooling means exactly what you think it does. Instead of operating on one single-speed compressor, a Trane XL18i operates on a Climatuff two stage compressor  which provides two-stages of cooling. Most of the time the system will operate at low speed which is the first stage in the compressor. This provides quiet even comfort in your home. The first stage is also extremely efficient giving you increased energy savings. However on extremely hot days when the cooling demand is higher, it switches to the second stage to make sure your home’s comfort is maintained. Two stage cooling puts an end to temperature swings. Set by the installer, Comfort-R is a method of ramping airflow so it gets cooler faster, so your comfort is attained much sooner.
